Dog Not Eating and is Sleeping A Lot?

I have a female indoor Pekingese. She is about4 years old. I noticed yesterday she was throwing up a bit. She ate fine yesterday, but I had to go to work and got back home and saw white foam spots, about 5. She is sleepy all day and drinks water fine, but is refusing to eat. I even tried giving her fresh cooked ham and chicken, but she refused it too. What can I do to get her back to her normal running around and eating again with out the throwing up?

It sounds like your dog has gotten into something that is not good for a dog, and since you aren't there during working hours, it may be hard to tell just what. One time our dog did this, and it turned out he had a serious blockage that the vet had to remove. It's good that she is drinking, but it could be something serious that needs a visit to a vet.

If you saw that she ate something she shouldnt have and she is not acting right, give yourself peace of mind and call the vet

It has been quite a number of years since my Pekingese passed away. One time he got sick and it was because he ate a piece of chocolate. I still have no idea how he got this, but it made him throw up white foam like your dog. I would suggest taking the dog to the vet and having him examined. These small dogs have sensitive stomachs and they love to get into so many things and eat it.

Last night one of my Bichon Frise got on the table and decided to eat a chili pepper. I still have no idea how he got up there, but I found him going crazy. He finally got it all out and settled down. So you see during the day when you are not home this little guy can go roaming around the house and eat almost anything at all. His stomach is upset and as long as this is happening he won't eat.

You need to take your dog to a vet. It sounds like it could be the start of parvo. If she stops drinking and gets runny stools, she will need treatment right away.

She could have eaten something she should not have, so she should be x-rayed to see if it is stuck.
