Total Time: 1 1/2 hours

Yield: 1

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Using an end table, measure the top and cut a piece of masonite or thin wood to fit the top of the table. Cut foam to same size. (I had some foam on hand which I glued together with a hot glue gun.) Measure fabric and add 6 to 8 inches around the sides of the board to allow for tucking under when it is time to staple to board.
  2. The original table that is being converted.

  5. Cover buttons with fabric scraps by cutting a circle larger than the button. Place button in center of wrong side of fabric circle. Clip around the diameter of the circle. Glue and let dry.

  7. Layer foam on board with fabric underneath.Using an upholstery needle and double threading the upholstery thread, thread through needle and insert through holes of board coming out the other side. Separate the double strands and put each strand through hole in board. Use square knots to tighten into place--three to four square knots. Using a staple gun, staple around perimeter of the board. Place on top of end table. This is a removable doggie ottoman!
  8. Attaching the buttons to the fabric.
