Finding Help With Home Repairs?

My home is in need of many repairs and renovations. I do not have the money needed to cover the expense of the much needed repairs. Is there somewhere I can turn to get assistance repairing my home? The department of neighborhood services has determined that I must make repairs to my home. I have contacted my alderman, but was told there is no money available in my neighborhood to make the repairs. I am being assessed a fee monthly to make these repairs. I have purchased some new windows and painted the outside of the house.

Since then, my home was broken into and I had to buy two security doors and a back door. I am out of money to do the rest of the repairs. Do you know of anyplace that I can turn for help?
