Want to work with a volunteer group but don't know where to start?
Check the town library, where civic-groups often leave pamphlets describing their activities.
Also watch your Sunday paper. On Sundays here, they have a small section where they will list volunteer opportunities including what agencies need clerical help, receptionist, etc. ALso check with your pastor. He can probably use your help also

Many times if you volunteer at a church run thrift shop, you can get the items in the shop for 1/2 price. Plus you can get first pick of the incoming items before it gets put out for the customers to buy.
