How and when did you get your pet?
I got Flair from a local rescue near my college back in February of 2020.
What does your pet like to do for fun?
She is an avid gardener, and likes to go sniff our vegetable garden and stick her face in the hose. She also loves the dog park and swimming in the lake. But at the end of a long day of fun, her absolute favorite thing is to be comfy somewhere near her people. No pile of clothes, towel, or bed is safe. She also- for some strange reason- likes to have sleep eye masks on. They do not cover her eyes or block any light, yet she keeps it on her entire nap (sometimes up to an hour) and has begged for me to put it on her. I'm convinced she saw me wear them and wanted to join in.
Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
Flair is my emotional support animal for my PTSD. She is incredibly smart, and is one of those rare dogs that just knows things. She has ways of communicating what she wants/needs. She can tell when my diabetic roommate's blood sugar is low, and leads her to her sugar monitor (no training for this). She knows sometimes before I do that I am having PTSD symptoms. She also goes up to random people and loves on them, only for us to discover later that they have just lost a loved one, just had surgery, or are just generally having a hard time. She was returned to her rescue 3-4 times within a year for being "stubborn" and "difficult to manage" and I am so lucky they were wrong, because now we have each other.
