Getting Rid of Tiny Black Biting Bugs?

I just recently moved back to my father's house where he had a bad case of bed bugs that he has finally gotten rid of. Meanwhile I on the other hand am getting bitten badly and by what I don't know. The reason being they're so small I can't even see them to kill them.

I do landscaping so at first the itching, biting, and bite marks weren't quite as noticeable. Until recently, I finally figured it out. I actually saw a teeny tiny bug race across my arm. It was then that I started to pick them off when I would feel them crawl or bite and then I got one. At that point it was clear or white. I put it on the sink counter and lit my lighter and put a flame to it. Then I knew this was no speck of dirt or grain of sand because it popped or in its case exploded. Which would only really happen with a living organism. Now, at this point I'm freaking out trying to google and getting nothing. Last night I now find black spots. So, I do the same thing. I put a flame to it and every time that I did it jumped away from the flame. 3x to be exact before I finally got it to pop. Now tell me what kind of inanimate object feels fire and knows to jump. As for my question:1- What the hell are these bugs. 2- Where are they coming from, so I know not to go there again. 3- How do I kill them. If anyone can tell me or help me in any way possible please do before I lose my shit. Seriously I'm about to snap. P.S. All these people on this site talking about these bugs and nobody has a name for them?

These could be bird mites. If so, you will need an exterminator.
