Getting Rid of Tiny Black Biting Bugs?

I have had these little black bugs for what seems like years and they bite only me and are in the clothes. It seems like heat gets them going. I have thrown away most of my clothes. I vac every day and spray bug spray, but nothing helps. My husband and kids said I must be losing it. I know I'm not. Anyone out there have any ideas I can try? Please someone help.

This sounds like you have a bed bug problem. Bed bug also, live in your clothes, furniture, carpets, and bed. I would definitely call an exterminator to come to your home.

Normally, with bed bugs the high heat of a dryer will kill the bug. Also putting your clothes in plastic bags kills the bug.

If you are the only one being bit by the bug there is a solution to help you. This works on all types of bug bites. Make some fresh mint oil and apply it to your skin. This is very simple to make at home and doesn't cost a lot.

Buy a small bottle of inexpensive cooking oil and a small package of fresh mint at your store. In a blender, add the oil and break up the mint leaves and add them to the blender. Mix well until the oil has turned green. Pour the oil into a sauce pan and heat on your stove. You want to just heat the oil and not allow it to come to a boil. Afterwards, use a clean, white cloth and pour the oil into a bottle. The cloth will strain the tiny pieces of mint leaves.

Now you can apply this to your skin several times a day. This works well and it is what I use on the islands for the grandkids. They get bitten here and it is the only thing that keeps them from being bitten by the bugs here.

Hi, I have the same issue what has diminished the number of bites is a dehumidifier. They can be purchased on Amazon.

Make sure to buy one that is 1 1/2 times bigger than the size of your room if you live in a warm climate.

It is possible that you have bed bugs but if so, why are they biting only you? Do you sleep in a different room? Something is off here but I think you should concentrate on finding out for sure what kind of bug you are dealing with so you will be able to take proper steps to eliminate the problem.

You will have to trap several of the bugs (put sticky tape around if you cannot trap them any other way) and place them in a secure baggie and go ASAP to a pest exterminators office or your county extension service and ask your question. You can Google with your zip and find pest exterminators in your area and also your county extension service (your zip).

You can read some comments from past postings on ThriftyFun when you have a few minutes - at least you will find that you are not alone in this search for an answer.

They could be mites. They prefer some people to others. You can put the bugs in a bag and take it to an exterminator for identification.

if you can actually see these bugs on you and they are really small (like fruit fly or smaller) then they are not bedbugs. Bedbugs are close to the size of an pencil eraser, sort of reddish, and very flat (save when they're fed). Also they won't really show up in your business until the infestation level is practically Malthusian.

I have heard that bird mites can sometimes choose a human host and this can create tremendous problems

I would try cintronella sprays and candles, these deter msot bugs

aside from this, capturing a live sample and going to an entomologiest like Judy says is probably best.

I have just found out that what I thought were tiny black fleas are some sort of mite. They came from raccoons that my mother was feeding via her cats and her stuff that I brought home after she died in May.

These things are not biting my husband, or my dog.

My car is a no-go zone, thank God I'm retired. After my daily chlorine pool water soak, I coat my skin with Vaseline with a little Neem oil then before bed I shower with pine tar soap, but sulfur soap might work better, I've also heard to scrub with epson salts. Nights are mite primetime. Peppermint oil with water spray helps, and I sprinkle Extra Strength Gold Bond Medicated Powder in my bed, and on my head if needed.

I wash my linens every day. I am bagging my clean laundry in Ziploc bags to keep it safe, bagging
dirty laundry in trash bags. We are in the process of getting rid of our carpets, all unnecessary belongings and a couch that's going to have to go. I had mite proof mattress covers, thank God.

Bug bombing was temporary,
so far insecticides are temporary. Cedar oil spray made me feel sick. I am going with Onslaught, with added Precor next. If that doesn't work an exterminator is in our future. Insecticides that are likely to work list mites and also ticks on their labels.

I understand you have to wash your walls, windows and sills, light fixtures and ceilings. Also you have to spray outside, get them out of your car and not reinfest your house with your clothes, shoes or your own body. They can also come back from openings in your walls, receptacles, light switches, ducts, window air conditioners!! This is like my worst nightmare come true!

I'm still in the process of getting all this done, I'm wishing I could just burn the house down and rebuild.

If you do find a magic bullet. please come back here and let me know.

God help us!

The Mysterious Biting Mite, basically is it's name. Doesn't fly, black hair like or lint look in shape. Burrow in and out of skin feeling
Like a bite. Mostly is worse when your hot. Clean everything including all of you with Kleen Green in which I have never heard of. Just found the answer (naturalginesis.com) as I have had all year. Hope can find at least online.
