Good Use of Speaker Phone

Many times I make an important phone call and I'm put on hold. This can be very annoying and take up a lot of time. I'm probably the last person to realize this, however, I have started putting these calls on the speaker.

With the phone on speaker, I can lay it down and get on the computer, read my book, wash dishes or do most anything else I want to do. When the party answers, I continue to talk on the speaker phone because I can actually hear it better. Works like a charm for me and I don't mind being put on hold anymore.
