Growing Vinca in Arizona

Neither my husband or I have a green thumb when it comes to gardening, but we keep trying to see what works for us. We have found it difficult to grow flowers and garden vegetables here in Arizona during the hot summer months. However, we have discovered that the "vinca" flower does grow here all year long and are happy with how beautiful they survive the 110 degree plus temperature.

Here is a picture of a plant in the ground and one in a pot. The one in the ground is watered from our bubbling system and has spread into different parts of the flower garden area. The one in the pot I received for Mother's Day this year and it needs to be watered every couple of days. They are both beautiful!

I grow vinca too, the purple kind often called periwinkle. Here in the Pacific NW, it is good in shady areas as a groundcover.
