Homemade Baby Wipes

Not edible, but still a good recipe to use, especially with those that have babies with sensitive skin or allergies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 roll Bounty paper towels ( or other heavy-duty paper towel )
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1 baby shampoo or liquid baby soap
  • 1 Tbsp. baby oil

Directions:

Cut roll of paper towels in 1/2 and take out center tube. In an empty baby wipes container, place the liquid ingredients and 1/2 of roll of paper towels. Insert top one through opening.

I don't understand why so many ingredients are needed. Vodka? Soap? Essential oils? The towels and witch hazel are all you need. A baby's bottom does not need to be disinfected, just cleaned well and witch hazel does the trick. It is inexpensive and can probably be bought in large quantities. You are going to bathe the baby every day anyway. (01/06/2010)
