Homemade Swiffer Duster Refills?

Does anyone have an idea on how to make Swiffer type refills? They are so expensive to buy and don't last long at my house with all the dog fur.

I have used plain old paper towels before, the really thick kind

I also saw a cool video once where a woman took old socks, but down the side of one, put it over the swiffer head, and presto - I tried it once and I must say it worked really well. Then you can actually choose to reuse them by washing the socks!

You can clamp microfiber cloths to the bottom of the mop. They are washable.
