This decoration is easy and fun to make and looks cheerful and colourful in a child's room. It is a great rainy day project for children to make themselves. Decorate it however you wish. You don't have to use marker pens. You could try decoupage or collage, stickers, or fancy sticky tape instead.
Supplies:
- coloured marker pens
- paper plate
- string
- paper or plastic cup
- hole punch
- scissors
Steps:
- Punch holes in the plate at 12 o'clock, twenty past, and twenty before.
- Draw a nice design.
- Colour it in.
- Cut 3 pieces of string making them twice as long as you need them.
- Fold one of the pieces of string in half, tying the ends in a knot.
- Loop the string through the top hole.
- Make two holes opposite each other in the cup. If the cup won't fit into your hole punch, use the point of your scissors.
- Fold the other 2 pieces of string in half, but do not tie them.
- Loop the string through the holes in the cup.
- Tie the other ends to the bottom holes on the plate.
- You can decorate the back too if you like.
- Pop a little toy into the "basket".
- Hang your hot air balloon using the top string
