How To Make Fresh Mint Oil

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 105 Posts

Mint Oil in panI grow a lot of mint in my garden. I use mint in salads, to make mint oil for cooking, and also to make tea. Fresh mint is easy to grow and needs a lot of sun and water. What I love about making fresh mint oil is the fact you can use this for so many different things. I use the oil to cook fish, to make salad dressing, and also as a bug repellent. Did you know that many bugs won't bite you if they smell mint?

  17. Place the funnel on your bottle top.

  19. Use a white cloth inside the funnel and start pouring the oil into the bottle. You can also use a wire strainer in place of the white cloth. You will need to pour slowly because the white cloth or strainer is removing the small particles of the leaves from your oil. This can slow down the process and you'll need to move the leaves around from time to time.
  20. Now store the bottle in your refrigerator. It can stay in your refrigerator up to 3 months. I use the oil when I'm cooking fish, making salads, making mint sauces, and also on my skin as a bug repellent. This is so easy to make and taste so wonderful.

I've been making my own basil and mint oil at home for 3 years now. Have you ever tried using the mint oil on pork.

It is delicious. When I cook a pork roast I rub the oil on the roast before I cook it.

My friend does this. I don't cook a lot of pork. I basically just cook fish.
