This is an adorable and easy to make shamrock using the center cardboard tubes from toilet paper. The puffy dimension you get from folding the tubes makes it so cute from every angle!

Total Time: 45 minutes

Cardboard Tube Shamrock - finished shamrock in glass vase

Supplies:

  • 3 cardboard tubes from toilet paper
  • stapler
  • hot glue gun
  • 1 lollipop stick
  • green paint
  • paintbrush
Cardboard Tube Shamrock - supplies

Steps:

  1. Fold a cardboard tube in half, keeping the open ends circular.
  2. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - fold tube in half keeping the ends round
  3. Staple the two open ends in the center to hold in place.
  4. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - staple the two open ends together in the center
  5. Repeat with the other two.
  6. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - repeat with the other two tubes
  7. Heat up your hot glue gun and place glue on the side of one tube and affix another tube onto it.
  8. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - use hot glue to stick two of the tubes together
  9. Glue the third one next to the second one, the glue the lollipop stick under them to act as the stem.
  10. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - glue on the third one and glue the stick under for the stem
  11. Paint the tubes green, inside and out.

  13. Paint the stem.
  14. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - paint the stem
  15. Allow to dry for at least 30 minutes.
  16. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - allow to dry
  17. If you'd like to display it inside, pour beans or rocks into a vase and stick the shamrock in.
  18. Cardboard Tube Shamrock - display in a vase partially filled with beans or rocks
