Identifying Houseplants?

Identifying HouseplantsI am desperately seeking help to figure out what these plants are so I know how best to care for them. My great grandmother just passed away this winter and as the relatives were clearing out the house they were about to toss these. Although I have the opposite of a green thumb I wanted to save them and take them home because I know she enjoyed caring for them and she put work into them. I couldn't just see them get tossed in the trash. These are much much more than just a few house plants to me, they have a special meaning and if anyone could help me identify them I would be more grateful than any one could imagine! Thank you in advance (hopefully).

that is a cool looking cactus! i would suggest you send these pictures to a farm extension or university by you and ask. my best guess about the top one is a dieffenbachia, which is fatal to cats that chew on them. plantcaretoday.com/dieffenbachia-plant-care.html

The second is some kind of a cactus. The first looks like a corn plant.

After a ton of research I think I may have figured out what the plant in the last picture is. I believe it's a plant called Moses in the cradle! The other 2 I'm still unsure of.

i believe your 3rd plant is called by several names; Moses in the Bushes, Moses in a/the Cradle, Moses in a Basket, Oyster Plant and more.
Your plant is going to need a lot of TLC to survive and look like some plants you will see in photos.

Your 2nd plant looks to be a cactus but there are so many types that it would difficult to name it.
Here is a link on caring for cactus in general - maybe it will be of help.

The first plant is a snake plant (mother-in-law tongue). Water it when the dirt is dry and it does well in sun or light shade, inside or outside, depending where you live.

I believe your first plant is a pot of severely root bound Snake plants. These plants go be several names (Snake plant, Mother-In-Laws-Tongue, and several others) but there are differences in these and I believe yours fits the description of a Snake plant. The Mother-In-Laws-Tongue usually has a yellow/green stripe at the edge of the blade.

Here are some links for photos of similar Snake plants. Please wait a few seconds for a single plant to appear.

Here are a couple of sites that give a lot of information about caring for these plants, Sometimes you have to read the full page to really see all about a plant - so please take your time.
