What are these behemoths in my barn? Found them when clearing out barn this summer. Apologies for the poor photography, I think my body heat when working fogged the lens!
The second image is sideways, with object on its right side.
Any tips on what these are would be great! Thanks in advance

But to be honest, I do not believe these two photos are clear enough for that.
It seems to me that it looks like some kind of an antique large piston inside a frame. Please add more photos.
We need more and better quality photos, and more information:
What size is it?
Is it all metal or are there wooden parts?
Is something moving or spinning?
Are there inscriptions?
Do you have mines nearby? Is it an old winch in a frame, used in mines?
