In-Store Return Policy Extended During COVID-19

Do you need to make an in-store return for an item you don't need, no longer need it, bought extra of or are unsatisfied with? I'm here to share with you with my in-store return and experience at Lowes.

My receipt was approaching the 90 days return policy and I was procrastinating because I do not want to go in stores. I finally decided to go at 8AM with my mask. Thankfully there was no line to enter nor a line to return. (I needed to return some extra sprinklers I didn't need.)

When I walked in, I saw a sign that said they were extending the return policy to 180 days from original date (there are some policy exceptions like power tools, major appliances, paint & so forth for 60 days). I wish I knew sooner because I would have another 3 months to return by.

Another store I know off the top of my head is Target because they sent us an email that they will no longer accept in-store returns or exchanges. If guests have items with a return by date from March to April 26, it will be extended until June 15.

In case you may not know, I wanted to share with you all, if you have in-store returns, call your local stores for updates because:

  1. Some are not accepting returns or exchanges at all

  2. Some stores are extending the return date so if its not an essential trip or you want to avoid going to these stores you have that opportunity.
After doing some research there are some other stores that are extending their policy:mIn addition to Lowes and Target - Sephora, Macys, Gap, Kohls, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Foot Locker, GameStop, H&M, J.Crew, Urban Outfitters, Victorias Secret are extending their return. There is probably more stores but you can call and ask.
