Instant Pot Citrus Chicken with Onion Gravy

This is a delicious chicken recipe for your Instant Pot. The onions melt away and make a delectable sauce to compliment the tangy chicken.

Total Time: 25 minutes

Yield: 6 drumsticks

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Press the saute button on the Instant Pot and add olive oil inside. Brown all sides of the drumsticks. Depending on the size of your Instant Pot, you might have to work in batches.
  2. Remove chicken from pot and add butter until melted.

  10. When done, allow to release for a few minutes then push the valve to release mode. Take the top off the pot and remove the chicken. To thicken the sauce, mix together the cornstarch and water, then pour it into the liquids in the pot. Switch to saute mode and heat to bubbling.
  11. Spoon the onion gravy over the chicken, garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

This looks delicious but I believe this is more properly called "Pressure Cooker Citrus Chicken with Onion Gravy." This has nothing to do with the Instant Pot brand. They didn't develop this recipe, and it can be made in ANY pressure cooker, whether stove top or electric. By falsely advertising the brand, you do a disservice to others wanting to try this recipe, by confusing beginners into thinking that you'd need an Instant Pot.
