This is a variation on a recipe that my mom used to make all the time when I was growing up. Very good bars!


  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 stick) melted butter
  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers
  • 2 cups coconut
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips (12oz.)
  • 1 pkg. butterscotch chips (12oz.)
  • 2 cups crushed walnuts
  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk


Put ingredients in 9x13 inch pan as listed. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 25 minutes.

Servings: 9-12
Prep Time: 15-20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter or oleo
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 - 14 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 3/4 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped peanuts or pecans


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Put butter in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Put in the oven for about five minutes or until the butter is melted.
  3. Spread or tilt pan to make sure the bottom is coated evenly.
  4. Sprinkle on the graham cracker crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle on the rolled oats.
  6. Drizzle with sweetened condensed milk.
  7. Sprinkle with coconut.
  8. Next is the chocolate pieces and raisins.
  9. Top with the nuts.
  10. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  11. Cool for five minutes.
  12. Cut into bars.

Seven Layer Magic Bars will be a big hit at any party. They are quick and easy to make too.



Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In 9x13 inch baking pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle crumbs over butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients in order listed; press down firmly. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill, if desired. Cut into bars. Store covered at room temperature.

Combine crumbs, sugar and margarine; press onto bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 10 minutes.

Bake 2-3 minutes until the marshmallows begin to melt. Cool, cut in bars. (Variations: Can substitute 1 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup coconut and 1/2 cup pecans.)...

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
  • Ad

  • 1 (15 oz.) can Eagle Brand Milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts


Melt butter in 13x9 inch baking dish. Add remaining ingredients in order given, sprinkling evenly over preceding layer. After addition of nuts, press lightly in pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes. Cut while warm NOT cold.
