Cardstock Sheep Badge - brooch on black and white garmentThis cute little sheep badge is made from cardstock. It's quite easy to make and a lot of fun. You can draw the eyes on if you don't have wiggle eyes and you can use a safety pin instead of a brooch back. For very young children to wear this you might not want to use a pin. Instead you can use 2 little magnets, one stuck to the back of the sheep and the other on the inside of the child's top to keep it in place.

Supplies:

  • metallic marker pen
  • 2 wiggle eyes

  • scissors
  • brooch back
  • strong tape such as parcel tape

Steps:

  1. Draw a small circle and two ovals or leaf shapes on the black cardstock using the metallic pen.

  7. Turn it over and use plenty of glue to attach the eyes quite low down.
  8. Cardstock Sheep Badge - attach the eyes to the front down low on the face

  9. Place the face on the white cardstock and draw a puffy cloud around it.
  10. Cardstock Sheep Badge - place the face on the white cardstock and draw a puffy cloud around it

  11. Cut out the cloud. This is a little fiddly, so take your time. You will probably do better with a smaller pair of scissors than those in the photograph.
  12. Cardstock Sheep Badge - carefully cut out the cloud shape, small scissors work best

  13. Glue the face to the middle.
  14. Cardstock Sheep Badge - glue the face in the middle of the white cloud

  15. Cut out two little black rectangles.

  17. Stick them to the back of the sheep for legs.
  18. Cardstock Sheep Badge - glue to the back for the legs

  19. Use plenty of glue again to stick the brooch back in place. This will still probably not be enough to hold it there so also cut a piece of strong tape to fit.
  20. Cardstock Sheep Badge - glue the brooch back in place and additionally secure with a piece of strong tape

  21. Stick the tape down firmly.

  23. Your sheep badge is finished, but not quite ready. Wait an hour or so for the glue to dry thoroughly to make sure nothing falls off.
  24. Cardstock Sheep Badge - allow the glue to dry thoroughly

I am sure this little sheep is the secret child of "Shaun" and knowing "Shaun the sheep" it would not surprise me if he is. It would be a good idea to craft this little sheep and to offer it to children or adults together with a cd of the wonderful creations and fantastic work of Aardman animation studio also creators of Wallace and Gromit and four times Oscar winners.
