Vampire Corner Bookmark - closeup of finished vampireI love making corner bookmarks with my nieces and nephews, and this vampire version is super fun with its little bat wings. This is a great craft for all ages, so follow along to fold your way into making this book and magazine placeholder!

Total Time: 40 minutes

Yield: 1 bookmark

Supplies:

  • scissors
  • white paper
  • black paper
  • red paper
  • googly eyes
  • glue
Vampire Corner Bookmark - supplies
 

Steps:

  1. Cut your white paper so it's a perfect square, at least 6" x 6".
  2. Vampire Corner Bookmark - cut paper into a square
     
  3. Fold the square in half, into a triangle.
  4. Vampire Corner Bookmark - fold in half to make a triangle
     
  5. Fold down the front layer of the triangle so it touches the bottom in the center.
  6. Vampire Corner Bookmark - fold down the top layer of the triangle to touch the bottom fold
     
  7. Fold the left and right corners inwards.
  8. Vampire Corner Bookmark - fold right and left corners inwards

  9. Unfold them then fold them upwards.

  11. Tuck the upwards flaps into the pocket you created.

  13. Turn it upside down.

  15. To make the vampire's hair, cut a triangle from your black paper to match the upper corner.

  17. Cut 2 pieces out of it so it looks like a widow's peak.

  19. Glue the hair onto the top portion.

  21. Fold a black piece of paper in half then cut out a wing shape.
  22. Vampire Corner Bookmark - fold a piece of black paper in half and cut to resemble bat wings
     
  23. Unfold the paper.
  24. Vampire Corner Bookmark - unfold
     
  25. Cut the paper in half at the fold. This creates 2 identical wings.

  27. Glue them onto the sides of the vampire from the back.

  29. To make the inside of the vampire's mouth, cut out a triangle from your red paper. Glue it onto the lower flap, tucking it under the upper flap just a bit.

  31. Glue on the googly eyes.
  32. Vampire Corner Bookmark - glue on the googly eyes
     
  33. For the fangs, cut out two long triangles from the leftover white paper.

  35. Glue them to the inside of the upper flap.
