The needle on my Kenmore 385-12814 sewing machine is running into the shuttle assembly. It started as I was half way through a project. Any ideas?

When this happens the bobbin could have come loose or moved around or the assembly has moved. Try taking this out and cleaning the area and putting it back together to see if this helps.
Thanks for your suggestion. The machine was recently cleaned and I have taken it apart and reassembled. Didn't fix the problem.
