baked Pantry PieThe ingredients in this pie are typical pantry staples, with the exception of the pie crust. The pie is unique, delicious and always a favorite at potluck dinners.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. 1 stick margarine, melted and cooled to room temperature.
  2. In a large bowl, combine first 5 ingredients.
  3. In a small bowl mix flour and raisins until raisins are coated with flour.
  4. Add floured raisins to the mixture in the large bowl.
  5. Stir to mix well. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
  6. Bake in oven preheated to 300 F. for 45 minutes.
  7. Turn oven up to 350 F. and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes. Let pie cool before slicing.

This sounds very similar to our Canadian butter tarts,(Google the recipe) only on a much larger scale. We make them in muffin tins and they are my MOST favorite desert.We like ours a little bit runny...

such gooey goodness. We put walnut pieces in them, but you can put pecan pieces or raisins in them. Delish. Thanks for sharing your recipe. I'll have to give it a try. :)

The Canadian butter tarts (I did Google the recipe) look yummy. I'm going to try adding pecans to the pantry pie. I expect they will be a tasty addition. Thanks for your comment.

Of you take out the raisins you would have what Grandma use to call vinegar pie. And it is so delicious.
