Paper Plate Sea Aquarium

Summer is the perfect time to do some crafts and to have some family fun. Using some simple craft materials let your kids make this sea aquarium to remind them of their beach holiday. A really fun project, and really fast too! Ideal for those little minds that cannot concentrate for long periods on end.

Total Time: 15 minutes

Yield: one aquarium

  1. Heat small sections of the plate with the hairdryer and use the crayon to color the plate blue. The heat of the hairdryer will make the crayon melt, so that will look as if you are painting with the crayon.
  2. Spray the bottom part of the plate with the contact glue and while the glue is still wet, sprinkle sand over the glue. Shake off any excess sand and allow to dry thoroughly.

  4. Use craft glue to affix the five sea stars to the sand.
  5. Cut the fish out and use the felt tip pens to add color to the fish. Optional: Use the Pilot silver marker pen to add some highlights to the scales and fins of the fish.
  6. Glue the wiggle eye in place.
  7. Glue the fish to the plate.
  8. Cut sections from the pipe cleaner and glue these to the plate to make sea weed.
