I am bedeviled by mould on the shower curtain so I want to know a really good (cheap) product to help overcome that, or even better, some DIY thing that actually works for people?

Use shower cleaner with bleach sprayed on and wiped clean. Keep curtain closed/extended with no folds and leave space at the ends for air movement when not in use.
Wash every few weeks in the washing machine with a little diluted bleach along with your detergent unless your care tag says otherwise.
A vinyl shower curtain liner is easy to wipe down. It also is easier to treat for the mold. If you are using a fabric shower curtain, make sure to read the care tag before using bleach as a cleaner to be sure it is safe.
I always make sure to cut the bottom edge (which has a hem) off. The hem collects moisture and it's almost impossible to keep it clean, even with bleach.
You can wash your curtain in the machine with bleach.
In the future, use a squeegee or old towel to wipe it down after each shower.
Use an exhaust fan or keep the window open to air out the room
