It is best to ask your dentist because everyones dentures may vary depending on material.

But there are natural remedies you can use that you have at home like vinegar, baking soda, etc.

1 cap full clorox to 1 cup of very warm water, stir well, then add dentures.soak for a few minutes or over nite. It's safe whatever way u do. I learned this trick back when I was heavy smoker. Nicotine stains badly. Trust me this works faster and better than any denture tablets or cream.

Dentures are expensive. You dont want to ruin them. Ask the dentist or his assistant before you do this.

You will need to be very careful with using some types of "cleaners" on your dentures as sets are not all made of the same types of materials.

  • Go to your dentist's office and see if they will clean them for you or if they sell a product that will remove this type of stain (safely).

I regularly drink tea, which stains dentures pretty well. Once a week I'll put 1 tablet of Equate (Wal-Mart, very reasonable), 1/3 cup hot water (let tablet dissolve), then 1/3 cup of hydrogen peroxide (buy the big bottle, it's lowest cost per week), then my dentures (put your top plate in upside down, then the lower plate, right side up). I've been doing this every week for 22 years now and I only get them professionally cleaned by the dentist once a year (he charges $25, and I'm retired, so I don't have extra money to throw around.) The oral hygienist gave me that recipe years ago just after I'd had my teeth out.

She warned me that I had to wash and scrub them with toothpaste every time I did this because peroxide is dangerous if you swallow it!! Be warned and save your pennies!
