Removing Pumpkin Soup Stain on Wool Sweater?

Could you please advise me on how to remove a pumpkin soup stain on my new woolen jumper. I have washed it in warm water with Woolwash then in laundry powder, but no good.

Put stain stick on it.

Pumpkin is a hard one. You can take a white towel and put it behind the stain. Gently massage a few drops of plain (the simple Blue) Dawn dish liquid and a few drops of cold water into the stain and gently blot the stain side with another white towel. This usually gets the stain up...don't rub....blot. If that doesn't work, TEST THIS ON A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN't SEE It JUST TO BE SURE IT DOESN'T ALTER THE COLOR...If it is OK, then follow it for the stain...with the towel still behind it, spread a very thin layer of baking soda on the stain AFTER TESTING ON A SPOT IT IT IS OK, then a few drops of white (NOT CIDER) vinegar.

It will fizz up. Gently with the other white clothe, blot it up. Then hand wash the sweater (or follow washing instructions). Line or flat dry.

Hope it works!

Whatever you do, use cold water from now on. Warm water might set the stain or cause the garment to shrink. Like Judy said, try Stain Stick, which I have to buy off Amazon, since my store doesn't carry it anymore.

Rub it in well and let it set for 2-3 days and then wash again. Don't use the dryer--let it hang or lie flat to dry until you know the stain is gone.

I don't know if Woolwash is the same as our Woolite, but it's just laundry soap. It's fine for delicates, but it doesn't have magical powers to keep wool from shrinking. (A lot of my family seemed to think it did.)

My husband's favorite sweater said "Lay flat to dry," so I put a towel on the table. This is what I found the next morning.

Thank you! That's my Starr and Harvey, who came to us just over a year ago, after being taken care of for 8 weeks by a kitten rescue. My husband can't complain about them--he's the one who sent me the picture to see if I wanted them.

His brother is a vet and the rescue place had just sent them back to him.
