Removing Soap Buildup in Laundry?

How do I remove old soap which makes face flannels feel very stiff even after soaking in soda crystals and washing in the washing machine?

Try some white vinegar in your rinse water. My washer has a receptacle at the top of the agitator for the rinse agent. That's where I put mine but you could just dump it it the final rinse.

Use white vinegar in a rinse cycle. You don't need much and it will help remove any soap scum build up that's in your machine. If you run your machine maybe once a month, on just a rinse cycle, adding a half cup of white vinegar it will keep your machine clean and help prevent costly problems with your the pump as it won't get blocked with soap scum that causes small fabric fibers to stick and eventually plug the pump.

Hope this helps.
