Replacing the Batteries in Handy Stitch CEX300K?

I have an old Singer Handy Stitch CEX300K that has no batteries in it. I've taken it apart, but can't find chamber for the 4 AA batteries it requires. How/where do I replace them?

I am not finding the manual for this sewing machine. I see what you are saying that it takes 4 AA batteries to run the machine. I also find out that if you do not want to run the machine on batteries you can buy an adaptor for $21.99 on Amazon. You can either run the device with batteries or with the adaptor. I am trying to see how to change the batteries and have gotten several links to the manual but each link is broken and you can't read the manual. All info on the machine is about threading and sewing with the machine. I see on the base of the unit there are several screws that need to be removed. Normally this is where you would replace the batteries. If this is not working for you then the next step would be to call the manufacture and find out where they have put the batteries because all the information online does not say how to change or replace batteries.

Thanks for the replies. I opened the unit by removing the small screws but there is not enough room inside for 4 batteries. I did notice a small port on the outside so dug thru a box of old chargers & found the one that came with this machine.

Batteries are corroded but, hopefully, a wire brush & new batteries will get it going. I need to make a face mask!

There were several models of this little wonder but it really looks like they were not changed very much with each new model.
Here is a link to a YouTube video that shows on model and the the battery compartment is on the bottom. Check this to see if yours is similar. There are actually 3 videos by the same person and each one seems to have some very good (clear) instructions.

If this is not like yours maybe you can check out the ones listed for sale on eBay as there are several of this model listed.
I would suggest trying to contact them and ask if they can help you with this.
You contact a seller through the 'contact seller' link on the right side of the screen.
This listing shows diagram of battery compartment on the bottom right end of machine.

I had one of these once, and indeed the battery compartment is on the bottom, and you can sort of see the little door that you open to put in the batteries.

I didn't know about the Amazon adapter; if I'd known that I would have gotten it because playing around with batteries gets cumbersome

I have this model - the batteries don't go inside. To the back of the mender, there should be a hole for a plug. You can use the adapter that plugs into the wall mentioned in another post, but the mender comes with this little unit that is a wire attached to a compartment that you put the batteries in.

This battery pack plugs into the machine - wish I could attach a photo here.

Whoops - just saw this was answered and that you found the pack! One of my batteries also corroded :( Managed to take it out and replace eith no batteries, but no dice :( looking online for a replacement adapter, though it might be cheaper just to buy another whole unit.
