Robin's Thrifty Tips: Weekly Grocery Deals

Robin's Thrifty Tips: Weekly Grocery Deals

This week's weekly deals are extra good in a lot of cases. Our Hy-Vee store has Coke product 2 liter bottles for .69 each. There is a limit of 2. They also have 24oz. Prego pasta sauce for $1.28. Hy-Vee also has a 24 pack of spring water for $2.99 which is a pretty good deal. Bags of Dole Classic Iceberg lettuce or Cole Slaw are 10/$10. I will be going and buying dog food from Hy-Vee this week as they have our brand, Pedigree, dog food on sale for $8.88 for a 20lb. bag. That is really a good price.

Fareway has some good deals this week as well. They, too, have 2 liter bottles of pop on sale. They have Dr. Pepper, RC, Sunkist or 7-Up for .99 each. I will be picking up some pork steak from Fareway as well as it is $1.39/lb. this week. I used to be able to get pork steak on sale for .99/lb., but those days seem to be over. Any time I can get meat for under $2/lb., I will try to do just that. I will also be picking up some American cheese slices. The Fastco (store brand) brand is on sale for .99 for the 12oz. package. Ketchup is another good deal this week with Heinz 20oz. squeeze bottle advertised for .98. We are out of apples this week so will be picking some up for my husband. Braeburn apples are on sale at Fareway for .88/lb. Oranges are .49/lb. This is only the very tip of the iceberg on the deals at Fareway this week.

Another store I have never mentioned where we live is our Ace Hardware store. I don't know if all Ace Hardware stores are like ours, but the one here is very impressive. They tend to run a little high priced sometimes, but you can find so many things there that you can't find elsewhere and they do have good sale items from time to time. Spring is right around the corner (at least we hope so), and they have some good deals this week on lawn and garden tools. They have various shovels, hoes and rakes for $6.99 each. They are also having 20$ of Windex, Pledge, Scrubbing Bubbles, Fantastik, Ziploc baggies, Shout, Drano, Vanish, Saran Wrap and Oust odor remover. Also they have multi-packs of Duracell batteries for $5.99.

These are just a few of the deals I've found this week in my area. Is anyone else finding a deal they can't pass up on?
