Seed Pack Gifts

Seed Pack Gifts - ready to giftYou can save back seeds from organic produce. I get a subscription box and with it, sometimes heirloom varieties that I want to experiment with or share with friends who garden. To save seeds, you basically soak them for a minute to rinse off the goop and leave them out to dry on a paper towel for a day or so before storage. This project teaches you how to make cute, simple seed packs for gifting.

  1. Cut out a 6 x 10 inch sheet of kraft paper. You can use an upcycled grocery store bag, too!
  2. Seed Pack Gifts - rectangle of kraft paper
  3. Cut the sheet in half or thirds. Each piece makes one packet.
  4. Seed Pack Gifts - cut the paper into 2 or 3 pieces
  5. Fold one of the pieces in half. Fold over two of the edges toward one side, leaving an opening at the top for the seeds to go in. Glue the folds to make a packet.
  6. Seed Pack Gifts - fold and make a packet
  7. You can start decorating! Label the packet before adding the seeds.
  8. Seed Pack Gifts -decorate and label

  9. Once you've packaged the seeds, fold over the top. You can either glue or tape it down. Store your seeds in a cool, dry place.
