Sloppy Joes

A family favorite and a great stand-by when you need a quick meal!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Advertisement

  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 can chicken gumbo soup

Directions:

Brown beef and onion together. Mix in rest of ingredients and simmer without lid about 20 minutes.

Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 15-20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

kind of sauce more resembling Manwich which was ladled over open hot dog buns, it was so good, and all the kids would be so hungry. Everyone would have a clean plate when they served Sloppy Joes. I have to wonder if the elementary schools ever serve them these days.

I hear so many of the young people complaining about school lunches, and they talk about how much food is thrown away because no one can eat it today.
