  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine the flour, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper in a plastic bag. Combine well.

  5. Heat the oil in a large, ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken to hot oil and sear until brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove the chicken to a plate.

  7. Add onions to the remaining oil and reduce heat to medium. Season the onions to taste with the salt and pepper. Cook 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Add the garlic and cook about a minute, or until fragrant.

  9. Put the flour mixture that remained in the bag into the skillet with the onions. Stir to coat. Add the warmed chicken stock and increase heat to medium-high.
