This is a new family favorite! Very, very good recipe from my friend, Theresa.

Total Time: 20-30 minutes

Yield: 4


  • 1/2 lb ground beef ($1.59)
  • 3/4 cup thinly sliced green onions ($.45)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce ($2.25)
  • 1 (16 oz.) box cooked spaghetti ($.99)
  • 1 grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 1 (2 oz.) can black olives ($1.59)


  1. In a skillet, brown ground beef and onions.
  2. Add next 5 ingredients. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add olives; simmer 5 minutes longer.
  4. Spoon over spaghetti. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired.

Cheap and easy meal. Kids LOVE this!


Very versatile, you can add more sugar, garlic or onions for your liking<. Add sausage or ground beef if you just have to have meat


In a sauce pan melt butter and saute onions, garlic or add garlic powder. Once onions are soft (NOT brown) add tomato paste and sugar combine well and let simmer softly.

Cook pasta. Drain

Coat pasta with paste mixture. Serve with Salad and or Garlic bread

Time:5 Minutes Preparation Time
10 Minutes Cooking Time

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 med. onion
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 can tomato paste (6oz.)
  • 1 1/2-2 cups water
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • Ad

  • 1 pkg. spaghetti


Cook ground beef and onion together; drain off fat and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients together (except spaghetti). Mix sauce and meat together, then mix it with cooked spaghetti in amount of your choice, and serve.

  • 3 qt. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. spaghetti, broken up
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • onions
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar


Heat water and salt to boiling. Add broke up spaghetti. Cook slowly until spaghetti is tender. In a gravy shaker, mix milk and flour and add to spaghetti. Heat until boiling, then add Velveeta cheese until nice and cheesy. In another skillet, fry hamburger with onions, salt and pepper. Add spaghetti sauce and brown sugar. Heat until bubbly. Serve as gravy on the spaghetti. A pan of fresh warm garlic bread sticks are a great complement with this meal.

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • 5 cups tomato juice
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. (rounded) flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese


Fry hamburger. Add salt, pepper, garlic salt, and onions. When browned add flour, tomato juice and brown sugar. Simmer for 1 hour. pour over cooked spaghetti. Top with cheese. Eat with garlic bread. Delicious!
