I sneakily came up with this recipe one day when we couldn't decide if we wanted tacos or pizza for movie night... so I made both in one! It's crispy on the outside, yet has the soft comfort of a pizza with the fillings and melted cheese. It's a total hit in my house and I think you'll enjoy it, too.

I've made this with my oven and my toaster oven, both work perfectly!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 4-6 servings


  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1/4 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 cup tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Heat a pan on high heat and fry the ground meat for a few minutes until almost fully browned.

  3. Add onions and stir fry for a couple minutes until softened.
  4. Add oregano and cumin powder. Mix well.
  5. Stir in tomato pasta sauce. Mix very well, and then remove from heat.
  6. Grease a baking sheet with a bit of the oil and lay down one tortilla.
  7. Spoon a quarter of the meat mix on top of the tortilla.

  9. Top with a quarter of the shredded cheese.
  10. Top with another tortilla.
  11. Repeat with the meat, cheese, and tortillas until you have 4 layers, then top with the 5th tortilla. Brush with the rest of your oil.
  12. Bake in oven for approximately 15 minutes, until tortillas are crisp.

  14. Cut into wedges and serve.
