Using Hairspray for Ink Stains

November 5, 2007

Hairspray on Black BackgroundPermanent markers, ink, etc., will come out with hairspray. Just spray the area and blot with paper towel or soft cloth. Also, WD40 works wonders on this kind of thing. Use same as above, just spray and blot. Will not harm fabrics or leave residue. You can always use a little warm soapy water when the stain has been removed also.

Hairspray is also great for getting out tomato and cosmetic stains. For those, spray heavily and let sit overnight. Launder the next day as you normally would.
