Using Up Unwanted Shampoo/Body Wash

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 677 Posts

A bottle of baby shampoo.Don't throw it out. I use mine for hand washing combs, hair and makeup brushes, lingerie and cashmere sweaters. Sometimes, as in the case of this bottle, if I see a really good deal I will buy it and save it for this purpose.

Have you ever bought (or inherited) a bottle of liquid soap or body wash that was just too thin? There is a fix for this. Pour approx. 1 cup in a bowl (not metal) & add a small amt. of salt, perhaps 1/2 tsp. stirring well. In most cases,(not all) the soap will thicken up! You can experiment with the amount of salt, over salting the mixture will cause the solution to "break" & become watery. So far this has worked for me on 2 types of liquid soap. It's worth a try!
