What Can I Use to Detect Cigarette Smoke?

I am trying to find a material that can detect cigarette smoke, either paper or crystals.

May I ask the reason why you need it when you can easily smell even stale cigarette smoke?

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for sending me a message letting me know why you were asking. The best way to detect cigarette smoke (would have to be a bit of buildup) would be to wash a wall or window. You'll see a gross looking orangey color substance on the rag.

The other thing you might try is one of those air purifying machines. I am not sure if they have filters or not but if they do, that nicotine will also show on the filter. Hope that's helpful. :-)
