It is a Tradescantia zebrina from the very large family of Tradescantia. They can become very large and beautiful. It is one of the best hanging plants and very easy to grow. You will have a better result if you water it at the most only once every two weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter. The best way is to let the soil dry completely and only then to give it a quick bath of lukewarm water for just a few minutes but remember that what is lukewarm for a human being's hand is a bit too hot for a plant. It doesn't need chemical fertilizer, tea is a good treat and does well. You can put it in a large pot or basket even if it is yet a bit small chose its place well because the plant breaks very easily when handled and it doesn't like to be repotted nor be moved to another place. It likes a lot of light.
