Red Velvet Heart Shaped Tin Cake

  1. The measurement of ingredients fits perfectly in a 6x2 inch sized heart shaped tin can.
  2. Sift all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Add egg, oil and milk.
  4. Mix very well until everything is thoroughly combined.
  5. Now, add the hot water. This makes the cake moist and delicious.
  6. Add few drops of red food coloring.
  7. Mix again thoroughly until well incorporated.
  8. Grease heart shaped tin, then pour cake batter.
  9. Bake at 180 C for 20-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.


  1. For white ganache, melt white chocolate with 2 tbsp milk. Boil until thick. Set aside to cool the pour it in a piping bag.

  3. For the chocolate ganache, put dark chocolate in a saucepan together with cocoa powder sugar and remaining milk. Stir constantly.
  4. Add the butter and continue stirring as it melts. Simmer until thick.
  5. Allow to cool. Pour dark chocolate over the cake to cover top completely.
  6. Pipe horizontal lines of white ganache.
  7. Draw vertical lines using a toothpick to add simple detailed design in your ganache.
  8. Chill and serve.
