An iPod touch can be a great choice! I have an iPhone and they are very similar. You can download lots of free apps and even listen to radio over wifi. As long as you have a wifi connection you can download free apps for voip(voice over internet phone calls), text messaging, facebook, msn and yahoo messenger, Twitter all free. Also if you get an Free app called Bargin Bin it will watch the programs you want to buy someday and tell you when they go on sale or even are free for a limited time. The sellers put them on sale/free to increase their download ratings. There are free podcasts and iTunes University. Lots of free content available for an iPod touch and many features that would make it like a phone most expensive but worth it in the long run!

If you want something simple that is not so technologically advanced, or expensive, try the nano or shuffle. The nano is small and has a screen. The shuffle is small with no screen.

Both are awesome and can be plugged into various ipod players. While the iPod Touch is a fabulous choice, it is quite an advanced usage device as well as expensive. I loved my nano although I did end up upgrading to a Touch.

Well, it was my birthday around 2 weeks ago and I still haven't decided what present to get from my mum. I really want an iPod. Which is better, an iPod Touch or Nano? Thanks.

Get the nano. The touch gets too dirty, and the nano is way cheaper too. It also comes in many different colors, not just black. (05/23/2009)

The ipod touch can be used online, but you must pay for services while the nano does not. (05/24/2009)

Depends on how much music you want to put on it and what you want to do with it. I recently bought a classic ipod. I love it and I can put so much music on it. Go to and get all the info you could use. They also have a post section from people who have them. (05/28/2009)

I have a touch and it's the best thing ever. You can do so much more than just music. You can download a million apps for free. Go online, chat etc., all for free. Holds tons of music, movies, and apps. etc. The nano only does music. (12/31/2009)
