I like to purchase bacon in the large package and prefer the thick sliced. If I don't freeze it, it will not hold the flavor until I use it all.
To freeze it, I cut the bacon in half, crosswise, count out the amount I will be needing for a meal and divide the package in equal portions. I wrap each portion of bacon strips in Glad Cling Wrap and freeze them in a Ziploc freezer bag.
When I get ready to cook bacon, if I have forgotten to take it out the night before, I just stick it in the microwave for a few seconds and it comes apart easily. Each portion fits my George Foreman Grill perfectly and is a gracious plenty for the two of us.
When we have company, I just take out extra and fry it in the frying pan.
If you want to freeze bacon without it sticking together in a clump, roll each piece from one end to the other like a jellyroll. Place each rolled piece, side by side, and lay flat in ziplock bag in freezer. When you need bacon, take out the number of pieces needed, and thaw them in the microwave.
