No Bake Cheerio Peanut Butter Bars

This is no bake Cheerio bars recipe I found online, but adapted slightly, My husband loves these bars and they are so simple to make and are semi healthy.

  • 3 cups Cheerios
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (I use Splenda)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (I use chunky style instead of the peanuts)
  • You can add marshmallows or dried fruit to these too and you can use other cereals like Chex.

Lightly butter a 9 inch square pan and set aside.

In a large bowl combine cereal and chocolate chips and peanuts if you are using them.

In small bowl heat honey and sugar (Splenda) in microwave. I do this slowly, 20-30 seconds at a time and stir till fully blended. Add peanut butter to honey mixture till it is smooth.

Pour the honey mixture over the Cheerios mixture and mix well till everything is well coated. Immediately press cereal mixture into the buttered pan. Smooth with damp hands or spatula.

Cool completely. Cut into desired size and shape bars and enjoy.

Servings: Depends on size you cut the bars into
