We couldn't survive without it. Today was 105 on our front porch at 4 PM.
It is only a one room window AC but sometimes it is a life saver. We have fans that hubby sets up to direct the cool air to the living room. Lucky for me that the AC is in where the computer is.
Since I got my memory-foam mattress, I'm no longer hot in bed (while sleeping, duh).
I don't know why, but it seems to modulate the temperature.
I have two wall air conditioners, one in my bedroom and one in the den. I can deal with the heat during the day but I need coolness to sleep at night.

Yes, actually have one in the main house and one in my studio. Couldn't live without them when its 100 + outside plus humid. UGH!!!
