Quick Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unpopped popcorn
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Pop popcorn using package directions. Add corn syrup to margarine in saucepan. Stir in sugar, mixing well. Bring to a boil. Pour over popcorn. Stir until thoroughly mixed.

How long do you boil this for? Or, do you pour it over the popcorn as soon as it comes to a boil? Thanks.

I had some extra popcorn last night so I tried this recipe. I cooked it on a medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until it got bubbly. I stirred it or swirled the pan the entire time. Then I poured it over the plain popcorn on a couple of baking sheets.

After I added the caramel and mixed it up, I decided it was still too sticky and I put it in a warm oven (250) for about 20 minutes. My kids ate up the result so I wasn't able to get a picture.
