Beauty Bath Bar

  • 1 bar soap
  • acrylic paints
  • paint brushes
  • 2 ounces canning wax

Directions:

  1. Paint a design over one side of the bar of soap, using the acrylic paints. Let dry.

  3. Meanwhile, in a double boiler over medium heat, place canning wax. When the wax is completely melted, use a disposable brush to paint a layer of clear wax over the design on the bar of soap.
  4. Set the bar of soap aside until the wax dries. The protective layer of wax will allow the soap to be used while the painted design remains on the bar!

I have made Christmas gifts using a similar idea. I cut out designs from old Christmas cards and use white glue to attach the design to the bar of soap, then dip it in wax.

I wish that I were talented enough to paint designs!
