What is paint doing on a driveway anyway. You could use enviromental safe paint remover. Or try washing with a power washer. Eventually nature will remove most of it over time.
I was thinking about a pressure washer, too. I've used one to remove years of dirt/grime from a driveway, patio, and sidewalks. I also sprayed down an entryway that needed to be repainted -- it blasted off a lot of the old paint. And no chemicals!
We rented a sandblaster. Make sure it is not lead paint or else you will need to follow your local health dept guidelines to remove it.
