Save With Fund Raising Silent Auction Items

Every year our school has a fundraiser for the PTO (Parents and Teachers Organization). They do a carnival with food, games, face painting, cake walks, balloon sales, raffles, and a silent auction for donated items. Every year the bidding goes high on the silent auction for things like a handmade picnic table, tanning sessions, gift baskets, etc.

This year I did the math and realize now that in the long run, most items went way cheaper than the store prices. I bid this year on some VIP passes for the Shedd Aquarium, and the planetarium in Chicago.

I received 4 passes, (myself, my honey, and my 2 teenage girls) to each place for just $20.00! They are good for a year and when tax season rolls around again we will already have started a plan for a family trip.

P.S. I saved $120.00! And don't worry, the school still got my fair share of donation, because I give my time, game money, and cakes each year.
