Hi--with regards to the concentration of the isopropyl alcohol, I spoke just TODAY with a man who makes fragrance oils for berger wick lampes. He said to use 99% isopropyl alcohol (medical grade)--I found it online for $2.39 plus s/h. A little more expensive, but it will insure the "health" of the wick and stone.

Still really inexpensive when compared to the cost of the fuel. You can buy replacement wicks/stones at a great price from courtneyscandles.com
They are very nice people who have lots of information. I bought 3 lampes from them, too! Courtney's own brand. Good luck!

I would say the 91% alcohol is better. I have seen recipes that call to add distilled water if it is 99. My theory is that the water helps the water soluble essential oils dilute into the alcohol better.

Was that 3 oz of F.O.? to the alcohol ? That seems like so much F.O or E.O .Do you ever add water ? that is what some say to add also.
Thanks Omi

You can find 99% alcohol at Safeway. You can also ask your local pharmacy and they will get it for you. No extra charge for them to order, they just don't stock it.

I have the alcohol and recipe but where do you find the oil for the fragrance. Can I use the small bottles of fragrances they sell in Wal-Mart?
