This seems like what we would call a tart or quiche in the US, and it sounds delicious. Unfortunately, Leicester cheese is not readily available in American markets. Do you know of cheese we can use? Obviously, you're not familiar our cheeses or markets, so a better question might be: How does Leicester cheese taste in texture and flavor?

Also, how large is half a tin (can) in ounces or grams? Standard English and American tins/cans are obviously different since you use the metric system and we don't.

Thanks for the recipe.

According to the web, Leicester cheese is pretty much the same as American cheddar cheese.

I would also like to know how many ounces/grams of tomatoes because this recipe sounds like an easy quick treat to make. Pretty please let us know the amount needed!

As for the Leicester, even if you can find it here in the states it's really expensive (because it's imported) but I do know that it is similar to Cheddar cheese and I happen to love Cheddar ;-) If you do use Cheddar add about a tablespoon of milk to the eight ounces because it's not as moist as Leicester.

Could you please answer the question of how many ounces/grams one half of a tin that you are meaning for this recipe is? I am pretty certain a tin means a can but here in the US there are two standard sizes of canned tomatoes.
